Energy Machines Wind designs and builds innovative vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT) with wired direct-drive generators. The turbines range from small to large scale and can be fit to power anything from limited electrical equipment to small communities. The designs are either drag or lift-based and vary based on objective, location, and purpose.

Originally founded in 2002 as Vertical Wind AB by professors at Uppsala Unversity. Vertical Wind AB was acquired by Energy Machines™ in 2019. Together, we can accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
